Sewing & Stitchery Expo 2016

Hi Everyone!

This past weekend I attended the Sewing & Stitchery Expo at the Fairgrounds in Puyallup, WA. My mom and I made a day of it and we had so much fun walking around to see all the fabric and designs people created.

The EXPO:

The Expo was everything from sewing quilts and clothes, machine embroidery, to the latest fabric and sewing equipment. They offered classes, presentations, and lots of demonstrations. There were multiple buildings filled with thousands of booths ranging from large companies to local stores.

The Booths:

Of the two buildings my mom and I went through these booths were some of my favorites.

The Riley Blake Booth was full of fun and bright colors! It was beautiful.

The Cotton & Steel had their latest line of fabric which was colorful & quirky. I just had to get myself some of their typewriter fabric!

There were quilts on display everywhere, but this one really caught my eye. Everything from the pattern to the colors of blue & yellow, I just had to share it with you all.

This booth was actually from a local store in Puyallup called Quilt Barn. I just love how all the fabrics look all lined up on the shelves with all their different colors and patterns.

I enjoyed looking at the many quilting samples and definitely left with tons of patterns to start making some of my own!

Finally, two of the many highlights of the day.

WE GOT TO MEET ELEANOR BURNS from Quilt in a Day!

MARY FONS from Fons & Porter!

How exciting is that? Mary Fons was actually here to share her latest line of fabrics, which were adorable and we ended up getting tons of! She was so sweet and bubbly! She even ended up sharing with us her inspiration behind her latest line and the quilt she made with the fabric.

If you don’t know who Mary Fons & Eleanor Burns is here is a

Fun Story:

Since I was little my mom would watch the sewing and craft shows on the local public television channel every saturday morning. Since I got older and started growing my own interest in crafts I started watching some of the shows with her. Out of all the shows she watches only two ended up being my favorite. In each of these two shows I absolutely adore the women who run them. Can you guess who they are? Eleanor Burns from Quilt in a Day & Mary Fons from Fons & Porter.  I was excited to find out that each of these women were going to be at the Expo and sure enough I was even more excited when I was lucky enough to meet them!

MJSSEbritishbites

To top it all off my mom and I ended an amazing day of sewing & quilting excitement with a little spot of tea at British Bites.

A day filled with inspiration and mother daughter bonding time was a day well spent.

Thank you for letting me share my experience at the Sewing & Stitchery Expo with you  & I hope it gives you a little inspiration and if there is ever an Expo in your area definitely check it out!
